My Hair Journey

Ever since I had my son it had been hard for me to take care of myself like I used to. Didn't have time or even the desire to do anything like that. As my son got older and started feeding himself and entertaining himself more, I found the time again and put work into that. It also helps when your mom gets you the things she knows you need. I didn't even have to ask her. For my hair for instance, it had been super dry and damaged. I have naturally curly hair but I straighten it often and a flat iron isn't something that's really good for your hair. So I washed it with the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo, it makes my hair so soft with just the smallest amount of product. Next I use, the Affirm conditioning relaxer. This is a godsend. It makes my hair so soft and feel so healthy. I can brush right through my tangles without losing much hair. I wash that out after having it in for about 15 - 20 minutes while brushing my hair out. After that, I like to use treatment for my hair since it was so badly damaged. I use Linange emergency reconstruction hair mask. I leave that on for about 5 - 10 minutes. I think you're supposed to put it under heat when you put it on, I have not I'm going to be buying a hair dryer once we get a bigger place. Nonetheless, the result is still great. Super soft silky hair. Usually after this I'll use another form of oil a small amount because my hair isn't too curly and I've noticed using too much oil based products in my hair makes it look greasy. I can either leave it as it is, curly and healthy looking or I can straighten it. When I do I always use some sort of heat protectant. My favorite that I always use is the Dominican Magic Nourishing Thermal Protector Hair Spray. It protects my hair from the heat not letting it burn too bad and it still looks super healthy. Thats my hair care routine and I do this once a week.

Later on I'll be posting videos on my hair routine and I'll be getting a diffuser for when I keep my hair curly in order for it to not get puffy throughout the day.
